Tertiary Institution - Automation Lab

ITE-1
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore, is a principal provider of career and technical education and key developer of national occupational skills certification and standards to enhance Singapore's workforce competitiveness.
D'Mark is privileged to be awarded the project to work closely hand-in-hand with our credible system integrator to develop and construct a "Singapore Flyer model simulator".

The Application
Part of the Experience ITE Programme, it is to let secondary students to interestingly experience hands-on practical automation project.

The Simulator was developed to enable student to program the following via the PC with the user-friendly programming to change
a) the wheel turning direction
b) the control lighting display pattern
c) the music selection
d) the smoke control

The above combination operates simultaneously to provide fun and educational entertainment to students.

The Solution
D'Mark Technologies proposed our solutions from Phoenix Contact networkable components from 'AUTOMATION', one of six business product division.

Phoenix Contact's compact controller ILC 150 ETH is the heart of the whole control system. The ILC150 ETH communicates to PC via MODBUS TCP in connection and the pattern program is entered into ILC150 ETH via the PC.

Waste Sewage Treatment in Petrochemical Industry

PUB, Singapore's national water agency that managing the country's water supply, water catchment and used water in an integrated way.
 
The Application
Project location: Jurong Island - a man made island located at southwest of Singapore where it's main activity is related to petrochemical industry.
To design a PLC system to control an AC Induction Brake Motor to collect the sewage from the industrial waste water before transporting to sewage treatment plant.

The Solution
D'Mark Technologies proposed our solutions from Phoenix Contact networkable components from 'AUTOMATION', one of six business product division.
Phoenix Contact's compact controller ILC 150 ETH is the heart of the whole control system. ILC 150 ETH was endorsed in this project due to its hardware compactness and product reliability and it's advanced features in industrial IT capabilities such as Ethernet connectivity, Web Server (HTTP), FTP for remote data uploading and future I/O expansion easily made with the wide range of Phoenix Contact's InLine I/O module.

Wire Rope Testing for Marine Offshore Industry

A hydraulic specialist corporation, based in Singapore, serving multiple industries in the marine, water and environmental.
D'Mark is privileged to be awarded the project to work together with the hydraulic specialist corporation to develop the Wire Robe Tester usable in Marine Offshore industry.
 
The Application
To design a control system for the proportional valve to enable testing for steel cable load for steel ropes, anchors, chains and shackles.
  1. The control is designed to test the steel wire cable with capacity tonnages ranging from 150 to 1500 tonnes and allows user changeable for different wire rope testing requirements.
  2. Accuracy of PID loop control is imperative to maintain the steel wire cable set tonnage by user.
  3. A HMI is required to perform data recording during testing and generate test report.

The Solution
We, D'Mark Technologies, proposed our solutions from Phoenix Contact networkable components from 'AUTOMATION', one of six business product division.
Phoenix Contact's compact controller ILC 150 ETH is the heart of the whole control system. ILC 150 ETH was endorsed in this project due to its hardware compactness and product reliability and stability in PID close loop application for hydraulic proportional valve.
Key products applied in this project are

  • Phoenix Contact TP10 (10.4" HMI)
  • Phoenix Contact Visualisation software for remote PC terminal
  • Phoenix Contact OPC Server
  • Phoenix Contact InLine I/O modules and SFN unmanaged robust Ethernet switch.

Importantly, the whole PLC controller system in the control panel had successfully obtained the DNV certification to be approved to be used as marine wire rope testing equipment.

D'Mark is privileged to be awarded the project to work together with ST Electronics Limited (Singapore) to build the control system for the ECS equipment for 33 elevated Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) station island-wide, Singapore.

ST Electronics Limited is a leading provider of electronics, ICT (information communications technologies), IT (information technology), sat-com and digital media, e-government and homeland security system in the region.

 

The Application
C1320 - Half Height Platform Screen Doors (HHPSD) and Associated Works at Elevated MRT Stations in Singapore.

  1. The control & monitoring of environmental control system (ECS) equipment serving the HHPSD room/ Battery room/ UPS room
  2. Interfacing existing operation control centre (OCC) for the monitoring of summary ECS alarms
  3. Interlocking functions of the ECS with fire protection system (FPS)

The Solution
We, D'Mark Technologies, offers our solutions from Phoenix Contact networkable components from ‘AUTOMATION', one of six business product division.

Phoenix Contact's compact controller ILC 150 ETH is the heart of the whole control system. ILC 150 ETH was endorsed in this upgrading project is due to its hardware compactness and product reliability from many proven past project records.

Phoenix Contact ILC 150 ETH controller was linked to HMI screen via ethernet port. Phoenix Contact InLine I/O modules were adopted for I/O expansion in controlling ECS equipment such as their Evaporator Unit Air-con(PEU), intake and exhaust fans control etc. The robust industrial grade type of unmanaged switches from Phoenix Contact Factory Line SFN series were used to provide networking connectivity.
