Phoenix Contact QUINT-IQ Uninterruptible Power Supply - DIN-rail UPS with Intelligent Batteries

Quint UPS IQ

The IQ Technology provides adaptive battery management on several levels:

State of Charge SOC State of Health SOH State of Function SOF

State of Charge (SOC):

Indicates the remaining back-up time and level of charge on battery. User can quickly see the amount of available time left.

State of Health (SOH):

Indicates the remaining service life of the battery module. The power supply records the battery module's history and indicates when the battery needs to be replaced.

State of Function (SOF):

Indicates the capacity of the battery module. The available capacity of the battery is provided giving indication as to how well the battery is accepting the charge and if the full capacity is still available.

This DIN-rail UPS demonstration features the "QUINT UPS-IQ" DC UPS and AC UPS system. These DC UPS or AC UPS systems are ideal for any situation where DC UPS or AC UPS battery backup is needed for mission-critical systems that cannot lose power.

The QUINT IQ automatically detects the type of battery connected and determines the charging state using three levels of Intelligent Battery Management. Contact alarms or emails can be trigger on various events such as time to change the battery (before it's actually failed) or a certain amount of back-up time left.

Note 1: The meter on the front of the AC UPS or DC UPS shows the amount of charge for the battery

Note 2: Software can be used to configure the AC or DC UPS for specialized settings. If the out of the box settings are ok this DIN-rail UPS can be used without configuration.

Note 3: The DC UPS or AC UPS battery back are easily serviceable with the front panel opening while still on the DIN-rail with not tools required.

Phoenix Contact's QUINT UPS-IQ uses intelligent battery management to provideadvanced diagnostics. The user can easily see critical data about the power supply's voltage condition, the UPS parameters and the battery health at any time.

QUINT UPS-IQ is now available for 120 V AC/240 V AC applications. Like the other QUINT IQ models, the AC version uses intelligent battery management to provide advanced diagnostics.

The AC unit automatically detects the input voltage of either 120 V AC or 240 V AC, making the product suitable for global use. To simplify system troubleshooting or startup, the AC UPS can start independent of an AC input. This allows users to power up an industrial PC or controller during a blackout to simplify system diagnostics.

The AC model uses the same batteries as the other products in the QUINT UPS-IQ product range. Using these new batteries allows for easy, tool-less battery replacement for easier maintenance.

More about QUINT AC UPS-IQ

  • The optimum solution for AC applications

The AC UPS control unit for 120 V AC / 230 V AC with a power of 400 W / 500 VA is suitable for mains interruptions that last several hours.

Optimum use of the buffer time and preventive battery monitoring

  • Detects the current charging state of the battery unit and calculates the remaining runtime
  • Calculates the current life expectancy of the battery unit

Can be used worldwide

  • Input voltage of 96 to 264 V AC
  • Storage of the level and frequency of the input voltage, in the case of mains power failure, the output is automatically supplied with 120 V AC/60 Hz or 230 V AC/50Hz
  • Manual voltage pre-selection possible

Signalling and configuration

  • Switching outputs
  • USB interface
  • Configuration using memory block

Simplified startup

  • Switching on the AC UPS without a power supply network is possible

Maximum energy efficiency
Offline operation: efficiency of 99% for charged batteries

QUINT-UPS/1AC/1AC/500VA - Uninterruptible power supply
Phoenix Contact's QUINT Diode power supplies are designed for redundant applications that require isolation and N+1 redundancy. Versions are available for use in both 12-24 V DC and 48 V DC operations.

The power supplies' housings are made of extruded aluminium for improved cooling and longer service life. This also decreases the heat load in cabinets.

The QUINT Diodes use MOSFETs, rather than Schottky or silicon diodes used in most redundant power supplies. These MOSFETs are up to 70% more efficient than standard diode components. This limits the effect of a diode module on the load of the power supplies.

The QUINT Diodes carry UL 508 Listing as well as Class I, Division 2 Listing, making them well suited for installation in critical process industry applications.

Uninterruptible power supply with IQ technology 1AC/1AC/500 VA. For 120 V AC/230 V AC applications. Provides information regarding the charging state, remaining runtime, and service life of your rechargeable battery module at all times and thereby increases system availability.
