Safety Interlock Switches

IDEC has safety door interlock switches to fill any of your machine safe guarding needs. Our full line of safety door interlocks include a wide range of switch types (solenoid lock, solenoid unlock or non-locking) and sizes to fill any application requirement. From rugged models rated up to 2,000N of retention force or a compact unit with 100N rating, all switches carry worldwide approvals and full line of accessories to make your new design and installation a quick and easy process.

Non-Locking safety switches
This safety switch serves as an interlock that enables the machine to start only when the guard is closed. Once the guard is opened, the machine stops or cannot be started. This safety switch is suitable for applications in limited mounting space.
HS6B series
One of the world's smallest safety switches (30x30x78mm) with up to 3 contacts rated for 2.5A and pigtail wire termination. HS6B is the smallest three-contact enabling switch currently on the market, and will fit in even the tightest areas, so you have safety in every necessary location. The design allows the highest level of safety by having 3 total contacts, dual load contacts plus a monitoring contact (as per ISO13849-1, EN954-1). Two key entrances provide flexibility for installation options.

HS5B series
Compact body safety switch (30X30X90mm) with rotating head allows for 8 different entry points for actuators. 10A contacts with M3.5 screw termination. HS5B interlock switches have a lightweight plastic housing, and while larger than the HS6B it is still a very small switch for tight fitting locations. It can be installed in several configurations, so the actuator can be accessed from five directions, and has three key types available.

HS2B series
Small body safety switch (35x7x98mm) with 10A contacts and M3.5 screw termination. Each unit has three conduit port or cable gland entry points. This full-size interlock switch has a lightweight plastic housing, three conduit ports and two key entry slots. The HS2B comes with an optional LED indicator, in red or green, and has the same direct opening action as all IDEC interlock switches.

HS1B series
Rugged safety switch (35x64x125mm) with die cast aluminum housing, 10A contacts and M3.5 screw termination. Each unit has three conduit port or cable gland entry points. HS1B is a full-size interlock switch in a more rugged, industrial die-cast aluminum housing. Options include an LED indicator in red or green, and two different circuit configurations.

Locking safety switches (with Solenoids)
This safety switch serves as an interlock that enables the machine to start only when the guard is closed and locked. The guard is unlocked by the solenoid.

HS6E series
World's slimmest locking safety switch (25x75x75mm) Available in 4 different logical circuits with 1 main contact & 3 monitor contacts. 

The HS6E series safety interlock switch provides a cost effective solenoid door interlock in a compact housing. A total of 4 circuit configurations for both spring and solenoid lock types can be found with standard 3 meter cable. Along with flexible mounting directions you can have up to 4 actuation entry points and 5 different actuator keys, the HS6E can be used to meet any of your simplest safety applications. 

Spring Lock Type
Automatically locks the actuator without power to the solenoid. Unlocking is accomplished by energizing the solenoid, providing a high level of safety. Manual unlocking is possible in the event of power failure or maintenance.

Solenoid Lock Type
The actuator is locked only when actuator is in place and is solenoid energized. The actuator is unlocked when de-energized.

HS5E series
Compact locking safety switch (35x40x146mm) Available in 8 different logical circuits with 1 main contact & 2 monitor contacts. The HS5E series safety interlock switch provides a cost effective solenoid door interlock in a compact housing. A total of 8 circuit configurations for both spring and solenoid lock types can be found with standard 3 meter cable. Along with a highly versatile metal head that rotates to allow 8 different actuation entry points and 6 different actuator keys, the HS5E can be used to meet any of your safety applications.

HS1E series
Rugged locking safety switch (45x104x129mm) Retention Force of 2,000N with 10A contacts and M3.5 termination screws. Hostage key type units are available. The HS1E is a full size, lightweight plastic interlock switch that includes a locking solenoid unit for extra security. When mounting the key on a movable door, and the switch on a machine body, the door can be mechanically locked when closed. The door is unlocked by a solenoid lock-release signal from a PLC or other source after the machine has stopped. In the even of power failure or for machine maintenance, the door can be unlocked using a special tool.
